Crickets, Tadpoles, Turtles, and Frogs

Second and third graders at The Heiskell School have been spending a lot of time "down by the creek bank!" Today was our dress rehearsal, which we did for the preschool students. What a great audience they were! Tomorrow we invite you to join us for our performance of "Down by the Creek Bank." Performance times are as follows: Friday, January 29, 2010, at 8:30 AM and 7:00 PM in the gymnasium at The Heiskell School. Click on the link to find directions to our school. In the meantime, check out these pictures taken by our very own Miss Lisa from our performance this morning. We hope to see you at the show!

Friday's Chapel Speaker

Yesterday, in chapel we were in for a very special treat. Scott Rigsby came to speak to us about his unthinkable journey. Currently, he is traveling doing a book tour, but he made time to come to our school and share his story with us. A quote he shared has stuck with me, so I will leave it with you as well: Today's unthinkables are tomorrow's realities! Below is a youtube video for your viewing that shares a portion of his story. If you have not heard this man speak, or read his book - you are missing out! Enjoy!

Class Christmas Party

A little late posting, but better late than never, right? We had a wonderful time at our class Christmas party. A special thank you to the parents who helped to make it so much fun and very successful. Parties are a big deal for elementary students, and my sweet class is no exception. We had a blast! We got our party started by drawing snowmen. Now, you might be thinking, that's no big deal. The clincher was that the students had to hold their papers on the tops of their heads while drawing their snowmen! They did a great job, and the adults got a few good laughs. The children also decorated and enjoyed some delicious cookies, made special by one of our moms! Below is a slide show of the festivities! Enjoy!
